This  3 Days Uganda Gorilla trekking Trekking Safari Tour in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is the highlight of all visits done in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Uganda and certainly, mountain gorillas are the major reason why very many people visit Uganda. Bwindi Forest National Park is located in South-Western Uganda, on the edge of the Great Rift Valley. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is home to over 350 endangered mountain gorillas which are quite possibly the most awe-inspiring animals to be found in Africa. There are also 346 species of birds and over 200 species of butterflies. Gorilla tracking is the major tourist activity in Bwindi  Impenetrable Forest National Park and can be challenging, therefore a certain amount of physical fitness is required. Tracking starts in the early morning, around 8:00 a.m. and can last from a few hours to a full day depending on the movement of these giant apes. They are mainly active from the time they wake up to look for food till evening when the sun sets. These astonishing and amazing animals are related to man in the aspect of social ability generally the way they behave.

Enjoy a Community Walk through The Batwa Trail, or ‘Twa people are one of the last groups of short-statured people also known as ‘pygmy’ people, and until Bwindi Rainforest was gazetted as a National Park they lived a hunter-gather lifestyle in the forest. They are now some of the poorest people in the world with a high infant mortality rate and low life expectancy. These People live close to Bwindi National Park and have numerous activities like gathering honey and food.

DETAILED ITINERARY

DAY 1: Kampala – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Our Safari guide will pick you up from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe and depart by road for a full day’s drive through the beautiful Ugandan countryside to the ancient rainforests of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. On the way enjoy lunch in Mbarara Town and proceed into the mountainous south-western region of Uganda through terraced hillsides dotted with traditional settlements. Expect to arrive at our picturesque accommodation on the edge of the forest in the late afternoon for dinner and Overnight at

  • Luxury Accommodation: Mahogany Springs, Gorilla Forest Camp, Buhoma Lodge, Gorilla Resort
  • Midrange Accommodation: Rushaga Gorilla Lodge, Silverback Lodge, Ruhija Gorilla Lodge, Nkuringo Gorilla Camp, Gorilla Mist Camp.
  • Budget Accommodation: Buhoma Community Rest Camp, Wagtail Eco safari Camp, Bwindi View Bandas, Broadbill Camp.

DAY 2: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Forest 

Very early in the morning, after an early breakfast before 8:00 am, report to the ranger station for a briefing with the guides, set off for your Gorilla tracking activity in the forests of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Gorilla tracking can be strenuous, you will need to carry a packed lunch, drinking water, wear comfortable boots or jungle shoes suitable for steep muddy slopes and take a rain jacket. Walking sticks will be made available for those that require them.
In case you have the afternoon free, have a guided village walk to nearby communities to see and experience the different aspects of Ugandan lives, cultures and lifestyles like the Batwa pygmies. Later return to the Lodge for Dinner and Overnight as above.
