8 Days Primates and Wildlife Safari

This 8 Days Uganda Safari Adventure takes you to Kibale Forest National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park and Lake Mburo National Park for Primates trekking, amazing Wildlife encounters. This Safari starts and ends in Kampala or Entebbe Airport.

DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Kibale Forest National Park

Leave Kampala after breakfast and drive through the fascinating countryside to Fort Portal town which lies in the shadow of the Ruwenzori Mountains. After lunch, proceed to Kibale Forest to checkin to the Lodge for check in. Later in the Afternoon go for a guided walk in the crater lakes area of Kibale Forest National Park. Visit “Top of the World” for sundowner and stunning view of the Ruwenzori’s and the Park. Later transfer back to the Lodge for Dinner and Overnight at: Luxury Accommodation: Kyaninga Lodge, Ndali Safari Lodge, Primates Lodge, Crater Safari Lodge.

Midrange Accommodation: Kibale Forest Camp, Chimp’s Nest, Chimpanzee Guest House, Mountains of the Moon Hotel.

Budget Accommodation: Rweteera Safari park.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale Forest and afternoon transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

This Morning, we report to the Briefing Point and with a ranger guide we get the opportunity to explore Kibale Forest. The guides will provide information not only on chimpanzees and primates but also on small organisms making it interesting. The walk will reward you with other primates like Grey cheeked Mangabeys, Colobus monkeys, Red-tailed monkeys, birds and butterflies. Enjoy lunch and later travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park with a Game drive enroute to your Lodge. Enjoy your Dinner and overnight at

Day 3: Game drive, Nature walk and Afternoon Boat Cruise on Kazinga Channel

Early morning Coffee or Tea and go for a dawn game drive where most of the big game can be seen in abundance. Visitors will encounter elephants, buffalo, water bucks, warthogs, lions, Uganda Kob, a variety of birds and some rarer animals like giant forest hog. Visit Kichwamba Escarpment for a Community / Nature Walk along the Escarpment overlooking the Western Rift valley in which lies Queen Elizabeth National Park. This is an opportunity to see how the rural folk live. Here you will see spectacular crater lakes and participate in community activities like crop harvesting and local gin brewing.

Enjoy Lunch and after go for a Boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, which connects Lakes Edward and George. Here you will see hippo, buffalo, elephant and a host of birds. There are 638 recorded bird species in the park. Later return to the Lodge for Dinner and overnight as above.

Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest through Ishasha southern Sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park.

After an early breakfast, we transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park with a game drive in Ishasha to spot for the tree climbing lions. Arrival in Bwindi Forest and transfer to your Lodge. You will enjoy Dinner and overnight at:

Day 5: Gorilla Tracking and Afternoon Community Walk.

Begin the day with breakfast ready for tracking, which begins at 8:00 am with a briefing from the briefing Point with a ranger guide. Ensure to carry along with you a rain jacket, drinking water, snacks or packed lunch, jungle boots etc. The guides will lead you inside the jungle to see the shy Primates, perhaps one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth. The tracking may take between 2 and 6 hours depending on the group you booked, but it is well worth the effort. Depending on the time you return from tracking, you can spend the afternoon on a community walk around the local communities living around the park.

Day 6: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast, drive to Mbarara and proceed to Lake Mburo National Park. Enter the Park through the Western Gate at Sanga with a game drive. The Park is centered on a series of swamp-fringed lakes known for their rich birdlife, notably the secretive African finfoot. The green acacia woodland surrounding the lake harbors dense populations of Zebra, Warthog, Buffalo, Impala and various other grazers, including the last surviving Ugandan population of Eland, the largest of African antelope. Arrive at the Lodge on time for Lunch. Have an afternoon to relax. Later enjoy your Dinner and overnight at:

Day 7: Morning game drive and afternoon Boat cruise on the Lake Mburo Park.

Enjoy a Morning Game drive in search for animals like Eland, Topi, Impala, Zebra, Hippo, Buffalo and Many more with a chance to see more colorful birdlife.

Later return for your lunch and go for a Boat ride on Lake Mburo. The lake is rich with a diversity of animal and plant species which will be viewed clearly as you are on the boat trip. Expect to see hippopotami and birds like African Fin foot, Pelicans, Black crake, Heron, cormorant, fish eagle; you may also sight the rare Shoebill Stork if lucky. Later return to the lodge for your Dinner and overnight stay at your Lodge as above.

Day 8: Transfer to the Airport for your flight home.

After your leisurely breakfast proceed to Kampala with an enroute stop at the Equator.

On arrival in Kampala proceed to Entebbe for your Flight Home.
