The 3 days gorilla trekking safari offers you a chance to track the rare mountain gorillas in the Virunga National Park East of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). This incredible offers refuge to 200 mountain gorillas and has 8 (eight) habituated gorilla families for you to catch a glimpse of these remarkable wild creatures while in their natural habitat. Besides, the park is also proud to be a home to world’s most powerful volcanoes Nyiragongo and Nyamuragira as well as birdlife and other primates like the chimpanzees and several mammal species that live within its jungles.
Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Kisoro, Uganda

Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Kisoro, Uganda
Following breakfast, you will be picked by our well trained and experienced driver guide from your hotel to Virunga National Park. Before, you will have a quick city tour in Kigali at Gisozi genocide memorial site to explore what transpired in the 1994 Rwanda genocide where thousands lost their lives in the horrific event between the Hutus and the Tutsis of Rwanda and later proceed to Kisoro, Uganda where you will have dinner and a night in either Travelers Rest Hotel for budget clients or Kisoro Tourist Hotel mid range facility.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking, Virunga National Park
After breakfast in the morning at the lodge of your choice, you will be picked by the driver guide ready to cross the Bunagana border into the Democratic Republic of Congo. You will be driven to the Virunga national park headquarters for briefing by park officials before embarking on your real adventure in the wild. Gorilla trekking usually takes 1 to 5 hours or more depending on your speed, nature of the terrain and location of gorilla family. With 8 habituated gorilla families, only one will be allocated to you in a group of eight people to track. There will be a tour guide and trackers to direct you as you achieve your dreams in Congo jungles and only 1 hour is allowed for you to have a face to face encounter with these rare creatures in the wild. After, you will retreat to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Transfer from Virunga National Park to Kigali and fly back home
Following breakfast in the morning, you will be transferred to Kigali to catch up with your scheduled flight back home and this will mark the end of your 3 days Virunga National Park safari in the DR Congo.
